It happened to me AGAIN! How many times have you called a number on a web site or advertisement, have the phone ring and ring and finally go to voice mail, you leave a message and no one calls you back! That drives me crazy.

Mortgage and real estate sales agents spend thousands of dollars, numerous tanks of gas, hand out hundreds of business cards, create elaborate web sites just to get the phone to light up. When it finally does, they don’t bother answering it or returning messages. It makes no sense. Statistics show that if a consumer is not responded to within the first hour, the chances of success drop dramatically.

The other day it attempted to contact a person by cell phone. I logged on to their site to retrieve the sales person’s phone number, which was plastered all over the place, right next the to phrase, “Call me anytime.” I called on three different days and not once was the call answered. If a person is too busy closing deals to answer the phone, then they had better hire some help.

When a first-time buyer takes the time to call a business to ask a question, that business had better be ready. If the phone isn’t answered, the consumer will move on and never come back! I wouldn’t.

Not returning calls is the number one realtor complaint. Boise Idaho home buyers need to know what is happening NOW–not three days later.

Answer the phone!
